Erased Artwork

ERASED ARTWORK pays homage to the tradition of classical textile and carpet art while also engaging in a radical exploration of deconstruction. In the creative process, abstract and ornamental patterns merge; the original motif is alienated, superimposed, and blurred. What remains are delicate hints, fragile surfaces, and shimmering layers of color—like memories that slowly fade away yet remain emotionally present.

The controlled decay is not only visible, but also tangible. After being knotted in the workshops in Agra (India), the carpets undergo an “antique finishing” process, in which the highland wool and the silk are deliberately treated with fire and water. The result is a surface that does not show perfection, but rather depth, character, and a tangible history.
